It has been years since I’ve ridden Suntop and the 1st time I’ve actually been to the view point. The day before our ride at Suntop was perfect blue skies and hot, the next day foggy and cold…. Oh well the rain over night should make for tacky trail conditions lets make the best of it and have some fun. Lets load up and head for the top.
The fog blocked the views it also blocked how much further you had to pedal to the top.
Eventually we reached the top
Nice Trail to Toilet A
We did not take that trail, but instead down another the actual Suntop trail. This section was technical with some tight loose switch backs.
Eventually it dumped us to the road where we regrouped and rode pedaled and coasted for a bit
A little bit of rolling trail
Everyone have a great time
Then the climbing starts and felt like it went straight up the mountain…..haven’t they heard of switchbacks. This climb went on for a while maybe 1 or 2 miles, but at this pace felt like forever….
Finally we can see the top of this climb
Now we will start heading in the downhill direction
The trail from this point rolls up and down
Then kicks up again
Dig Deep on this grunt of a climb
As we roll through Fawn Ridge there are some views of Palisades
There were sections here that were like plowing through flour
As we neared the end of Fawn Ridge found my hub was coming loose. Hand tightened it and continued on
Out of Fawn Ridge over to Skookum
Trail conditions on Skookum were great
Wild life sightings on the trail
Views or no views still a fun ride.
